Have you been wondering what trail work is all about? Are you looking for a fun and rewarding way to kick off the summer hiking season? National Trails Day is a great opportunity to give back to your National Forests through stewardship of your favorite trails.
Join SBFC staff and volunteers at the Colgate Licks Nature Trail on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Conveniently located at milepost 147.9 along U.S. Highway 12, this site features open meadows, a mineral lick frequented by wildlife, and scenic views of the Lochsa River. Learn more about the site at AllTrails.
We will perform annual maintenance, including brushing vegetation back to widen the trail corridor with loppers, cleaning leaf litter and rocks from drains with a shovel, or using a crosscut or hand saw to clear any downed trees in the trail.
SBFC will provide lunch, snacks, and cold beverages. Please sign up via SBFC Volunteer Registration.
There is a $15 refundable volunteer deposit required to secure your spot. Questions? Contact volunteer@selwaybitterroot.org.
