Description

UM College of H&S Career Planning Center helps students discover your passion, purpose, and profession by evaluating your goals and translating your Career Readiness Competencies into a compelling narrative of the value you offer an employer. We will help boost your education through career-building research, internships, creative scholarship, volunteerism, study away, employment, and leadership roles. As an AmeriCorps member, you will encourage H&S program and major/minor exploration by connecting with Upward Bound AmeriCorps Leader to engage high school students and by direct contact with current UM students, faculty, and staff. Provide students social-emotional support, mentorship, and connection to community and campus resources and high-impact practices to drive academic success, progression to graduation, and career readiness. Support H&S students’ career exploration via career-focused workshops, panels, and in-class presentations to connect students to employers, career readiness, career paths, and the labor market to advance social mobility. Build and strengthen community partnerships (nonprofits, employers) and campus partnerships (TRIO, ODE, Intercollegiate Athletics, H&S Advising Center, Missoula College, DHC, GLI, Food Pantry, etc.). Help students identify and gain career readiness competencies. Addressing student food insecurity, you will help create, launch, and manage H&S Food Pantry.
