hat ARK is Doing: Altruist Relief Kitchen (ARK) is manufacturing sustainable “instant infrastructure” in western Ukraine, Türkiye and Mexico, that can be transported into remote or devastated locations to provide basic services—like food, water, shelter and medical care—without the need for fossil fuels or electricity.
How ARK is Radically Efficient: The 1350 square foot field tents can be set up as kitchens that cook 75 gallon meals, enough for 2,000 people per tent structure twice a day, and purify or distill contaminated water on our collapsible wood-fired stoves. The field tents are also large and washable enough to be emergency shelters, storage facilities, community centers, or field hospitals—strong enough to withstand blizzards—and multiple tents can be connected together to provide these kinds of services at any scale.
How ARK is Radically Sustainable: Because our giant tents, wood-stoves and field kitchens are made mostly from local recycled materials, they are very inexpensive to produce. The heat, cooking and water purification is provided by wood stoves so they don’t need fossil fuels or electricity. How ARK is Radically
